Tres Leches teaches the Spanish people really speak in Mexico. You meet Chispa the chile and the neighbors along a winding street: greetings, family, food, numbers, days, even a taxi ride with Rafa. Each lesson takes a few minutes, and every right answer earns a slice of tres leches cake.

What you get

Hear it, say it. See a word, hear it spoken, then say it or type it. Accents and small slips are forgiven.
Varied practice. Matching, building phrases, filling blanks, choosing replies and short conversations.
Chat freely with each character once you have met them.
Bake as you learn. Five slices bake a whole cake. Keep your racha (streak) going, earn badges, and climb from Aprendiz to Leyenda del Barrio.
Made for everyone. Good for anyone just starting out. No ads.

Free, and what is optional

Every lesson is free. Finish one to unlock the next.
The first lessons need no account. A free account (Sign in with Apple) keeps your cakes, racha and badges safe if you change phones, and gives you 3 free cherries 🍒.
Cherries are optional. Spend one to open any lesson early. Extra packs are sold inside the app, in Mi cocina.
Tres Leches Pro is an optional yearly subscription (US$9.99 per year) that opens every lesson and every character at once. It renews automatically until you cancel in your Apple ID settings. If it ends, you keep your progress and everything you have finished.

How do I start?

Enter your name, then tap the glowing character on the map and press START. Finish a lesson to unlock the next one.

Speaking does not work

Allow Microphone and Speech Recognition for Tres Leches in iPhone Settings. You can always tap or type your answers instead.

A lesson is locked

A padlock means you have not finished the lesson before it. Finish that one, or spend a cherry 🍒 to open it now.

I got a new phone

Open Mi cocina (tap the flame or cake at the top of the map) and sign in with Apple. Your cakes, racha, badges and progress come back. Cherries stay on the phone they were earned or bought on.

Reminders

After your first lesson, Chispa offers one friendly reminder at 7 pm on days you have not practiced. Change it any time in iPhone Settings → Notifications.

Restore or cancel Pro

Open Mi cocina → Tres Leches Pro → Restore purchases. To cancel, go to iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

Sign out or delete my account

Both are in Mi cocina. Deleting removes your saved progress from our server.

Text is too small

Tres Leches follows your iPhone's text size: Settings → Display & Brightness → Text Size.
